The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, while giving his sermon on the topic titled “Divine Remembrance”, narrated an experience he once had while ministering at a Sunday service.
While giving the full narration of the story, he said, “We were having a program in one of our churches before this one was built, and the Almighty God said that there was a lady in the crowd that it is your mum that is not allowing you to get married, and if she won’t allow you to marry, she will die in the next seven days.” So, the lady went home and told the mother that “daddy has prophesied that you’re the one who is not allowing me to marry, and if you don’t allow me to marry in the next seven days, you will die.”
“The following day, the mother came and told me that I’m the kind of prophet that prophesies lies to girls, and I asked her what the problem was. She told me what her daughter told her, and I asked her, “Did I mention anybody’s name?” So, the mother told the girl to excuse herself, and the girl left my office. Then the mother asked me, “Is it really true?” I told her I didn’t mention names, but once God has spoken, the case is settled. “
“She then told me that her daughter is the one taking care of her, and if she marries now, who will take care of her? I told her, so you chose to repay her back by not letting her get married. We settled the case, and within a month, a brother in the church married her. “
