The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adejare Adeboye, is one of the foremost ministers of God in the Nigerian church.

Among many achievements that can be credited to Adeboye’s life and ministry, one, in particular, is the groundbreaking crusade he pioneered at the Lekki axis of Lagos in 1998, tagged ‘Lekki ’98’.

One of the credible sources, Inspiration Magazine, gathered that the total number of people who graced the Lekki ’98 crusade was approximately 7 million.
It has been 23 years since Adeboye’s crusade, nevertheless, popular Nigerian gospel music minister, Dunsin Oyekan, has claimed to receive a divine mandate to relive the experience of Lekki ’98, in the form of a revival-themed crusade tagged ‘The Outpouring.’

Oyekan took to his Instagram handle to reveal that he approached Adeboye and told him of his desire to hold a crusade similar to Lekki ’98, and claimed that the latter was in full support of the crusade.
The first time Adeboye gave his full
support to Oyekan, was via Instagram, where he commended Oyekan and blessed the crusade in advance.

However, recently Oyekan posted a short video clip on his official Instagram handle, where Adeboye was seen reminding people about the Lekki ’98 crusade and inviting them for ‘the Outpouring ’21.’
What Effect Does This Have On ‘The Outpouring’ Crusade?
Since Adeboye is regarded as a key player in the Nigerian church, who influences many ministers and Christians, the video of the cleric will spark a desire in the minds of many to attend the meeting.

Although Adeboye won’t be there in person, as he is not among the guests, the majority of invited ministers are his spiritual sons, including the convener, Oyekan.
Therefore, Adeboye has staked his integrity on the crusade, and this will make Christians from different denominations attend the meeting.
Furthermore, Adeboye’s ministry, RCCG, is one of the largest – in terms of population – in Nigeria. This means that members of RCCG will gracefully attend the crusade since their General Overseer has openly endorsed it
