About 6 years ago or so, someone contacted me here on Facebook, acknowledge my gift and presented himself to me as a marketer and promoter.

We got talking and he explained how he wants to market my jobs and all.
I checked his profile and he has a picture with everyone i look up to as mothers and fathers in ministry at one event or the other.
He was everywhere but he’s not whom he portrays himself to be.

Knowing me and my husband, we hadly jump on opportunities without due diligence but this time we fell for his words and before we knew it, we had paid him a over 100k to start recording my album. Oga collected money and voooom oga disappeared.

I went looking for him at the office he presented to me as his and they were looking for him too because he had scammed other people.
To cut the long story short, i was scammed and heaven didnt fall but that singular event delayed me from recording another album for almost 4 years.

However, I am grateful to God i didn’t get to work with such human. Only God knows what would have become of ones career today.

If someone you respect but don’t have a relationship with refuse to take pictures with you, don’t assume they’re proud, their image is on the line.

Moral of my story:

  • Don’t assume people have relationship because they’ve a photo together. Ask questions.
  • Not everything that looks like opportunity is one, some just wants to use you.
  • Every delay is not necessarily a loss of time, some times it’s for a greater glory.
