SIMPLE WAYS ON HOW TO ATTRACT ANOINTING

What exactly is “the anointing”?

Uncomfortable advantage. That’s what Renee Evans, one of our senior leaders at Bethel Austin, prayed over me the other day when I told her about my starting company. “An uneasy favor.” And I easily accepted the grace that was strongly imbuing that prayer – attracting the anointing!

I’m searching for God’s unexpected, awe-inspiring, hope-strengthening, chicken skin-producing, courage-enabling favor. I need His anointing to carry out the desires He has placed in my heart via experiences, dreams, whispers, lightning flashes from the Bible, preaching and teaching, worship, and prophetic times in my church and abroad. God’s rhema speech to my heart. Do we not all?

So, how can we entice God’s favor, anointing, and the gift of power and grace? Can we do anything to have our God’s heavy hand lay on us more and more each day? I want more of Him, and I’m sure you want as well!

Here are five things we can do to see Him move more freely in, through, and around us, as well as things that draw God’s anointing.

1.Thank Him for what He has done and what He is doing.

Nothing invites Heaven to appear more than praise and thankfulness. And it’s not difficult to see why. Would you want to hang out with someone who was always complaining about what you were doing, how it wasn’t enough, how you could do more, how dissatisfied they were with life, and so on? No way, no how, that’s no fun at all! It’s really difficult to assist folks in this situation. It’s tough to work with them since their focus is only on themselves and not on the potential of the situation.

This is not to say that our grumpiness (if we are grumpy; c’mon, let’s be honest!) puts Papa at away and separates Him from us. Not at all! Because He is always around us, always nearby, always willing to aid, encourage, strengthen, and empower us if our hearts are oriented to Him.

Thanksgiving is God’s very house:

But you are holy, O thou who dwellest in Israel’s praises. (KJV Psalm 22:3)

A practice of continuous praise and gratitude opens the way to anointed experience of His presence and power.

Therefore, through Him, let us continuously present to God the sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips, expressing praises to His name. (NKJV Hebrews 13:15)

2. Reorganize our behavior in a new manner

Heaven appears when we begin to detect and distinguish what God is doing around us, when He sees what He is up to and joins Him in doing so. His power has been freed. This is how we determine our course in life.

Jesus showed us how to accomplish it:

“Most truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself except what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son likewise accomplishes in like way,” Jesus said. (NKJV) John 5:19

But how do we accomplish this? How do we know what the Father is doing? How can we perceive Him and emulate Him? This isn’t tough; Papa doesn’t make it so! If we’re willing to look, he puts it right in front of us! So, in addition to living a life of worship and praise, we also put on the lens of sacrificial love and service. This is how we begin to distinguish His works. He (the Father!) is rejoicing in Jesus’ presence, in the atmosphere of the Spirit, in the joy of the Kingdom – are we? And He is always loving and serving people nearest to us – are we? Let’s glance around and concentrate on the folks Papa has planned to be around. How are we doing in terms of loving and serving them?

Following Papa’s explicit request, we may now begin organizing our behavior in a different way:

“Whoever praises Me honors Me; and to anyone who arranges his actions correctly, I will display God’s redemption.” (NASB Psalm 50:23)

As we establish our time management habits and fundamental principles, our essential connections become more vital. What are your most important relationships, and what is Papa saying to you about your duty of love and service in each of them? (Hint: it will resemble Jesus’ outreach to others.) Putting your attention on these connections will bring Heaven’s life-giving anointing to your love-efforts.

3. “Cross the chicken line.”

I’m paraphrasing one of the pastors at my church, Bethel Austin (https://www.bethelchurchaustin.com/), Jim Evans. He oversees the growth of our Transformation Center as well as a highly amazing ministry called Activate (4pm on Saturdays). He regularly uses this expression when urging us to be courageous in reaching out to individuals, hearing from God on their behalf and prophesying to them, praying for their recovery, and so on. The objective is to get out of our comfort zones and into the Holy Spirit’s “demonstration of power” zone. Jesus does not demand the world to come to us for service; rather, He instructs us to take His ministry to the world:

BETRAYAL OF TRUST. By Gbile Akanni

“But go…

Preach as you go, proclaiming, ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the ill, cleanse the lepers, resurrect the dead, and expel demons. “You have received freely; freely give.” (NKJV Matthew 10:6-8, emphasis mine)

Believe me when I say that this requires intentional, intelligent, and prepared action. You must be seeking for a chance to introduce Jesus to a total stranger. You must make a promise to Papa, saying, “Here I am, Lord, send me.” Use me. Make me aware of my options.” Examine it out! Do this, and the Holy Spirit will powerfully breathe on you, drawing the Father’s anointing!

  • SERVICE (PSALM 80:20). BOSSES DON’T GET THE ANOINTING, SERVANTS DO.
  • SONSHIP (2 KINGS 2:12-16). THE ANOINTING IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH THE POSTURE OF SONSHIP.
  • HUNGER FOR ANOINTING (MATTHEW 7:7). WHEN YOU DESIRE THE ANOINTING, YOU RECEIVE IT.
  • GOD’S CHOICE. GOD MAKES A CHOICE (NUMBERS 17;18:1, ISAIAH 45:1-3).
  • HOLINESS (HEBREW 1:9).
