I Have Nothing Personal Against Pastor Adeboye And Bishop Oyedepo – Pastor Tunde Bakare

The Nigerian Televangelist and General Overseer of Citadel Global Community, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said he doesn’t have anything personal against Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo.

When asked by TVC News Correspondent about his relationship with his fellow Pentecostal pastors, especially the likes of Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo. He said he doesn’t regard such men as colleague but father, though he said Bishop Oyedepo is a contemporary but Pastor Adeboye is like a father figure to him and he would never attack or dishonor him. 

According to Pastor Tunde Bakare, Pastor Adeboye is like a father figure to him and he was the one who stood as his father during his wedding and signed his wedding document. He said it would be wrong for him to dishonored and attacked a man who contributed to his success in life. He said it is wrong for anyone to bite the fingers that once fed them.

He said he has a lot of respect and honor for what God has used Bishop David Oyedepo to accomplished and he has nothing personal against him. He said he only addressed issues he doesn’t agreed with in his books but that doesn’t make them enemies. 

According to Pastor Bakare, one of his son once met him and Bishop Oyedepo eating together and he was shocked, but he had to educate his son that he has nothing personal against the person of Bishop Oyedepo, and the only differences they had was based on their doctrines and personal conviction about the Gospel.

He said one day Bishop Oyedepo asked him why he torn his book on TV, and he told him not to take it personal because, as far as he bought the book with his money, it is no longer Bishop Oyedepo’s book but his. And he has nothing personal against his person but against the issues he wrote about in his book. “So, that we disagreed over something doesn’t mean we are enemies, no. So, I told him there is a big difference between issues and persons. We can defend the gospel but those who dishonor the body of Christ we also die before their time. So, I have nothing personal against Pastor Adeboye and Oyedepo or any man of God, but by the grace of God I’ll always defend the truth that I know and I’ll make it plain,” he said.
