If I have a 1000 boys like Tony Rapu, I will deliver the world to Jesus Christ in less than 5 years – Pastor E.A Adeboye
Let me use this opportunity to salute a great man of God, by the name Tony Rapu. I have said it before, I’m saying it publicly so that it can be put on record. Tony (was or) is rather a man of awesome potential, intelligent, articulate, a man passionately in love with God. You share a vision with him, he will amplify it, he will analyze it and he will run with it.
I went abroad and I came to the airport; Tony came to meet at the airport and said “Daddy, we are waiting for your approval, but we have decided that we want to divide our present congregation to four, to form four new parishes: beginning from next Sunday, unless you say No.” I smiled, I said “My son, I say Yes.”
One Sunday, we gathered together as one, the following Sunday we were in 4 different locations. That was the Apapa of the beginning in the early days of the movement. He came to a meeting, and Tony got up and said: “You are going to London; You are going to Germany (I heard you).” No letter of transfer, no explanation as to what you are going to do there, he just said “you are off to London, you are off to Germany” and that was it. That is movement.
In a movement – you come to church, you don’t even know where you are going to end by the end of the day. That is Movement. You know the meaning of movement now and I asked my pastors to tell me what is the difference between a vessel and a container. One of them got it correct: He said a vessel is always moving from one place to the other but when the vessel decides to stay put on one spot, it becomes a container.
A movement was when in those days, Apapa in two weeks planted FIFTEEN (15) PARISHES (am I lying, there are people who are here, who are old enough). I CAN SAY BOLDLY “IF I HAVE A THOUSAND BOYS LIKE TONY RAPU, I WILL DELIVER THE WORLD TO JESUS CHRIST IN LESS THAN 5 YEARS.”
Tony is unique, glory be to God.
