This is the moment a young pastor, one Evangelist Henry Ezidinma, was nabbed by security operatives for allegedly killing five persons in Yenagoa in a brutal hit-and-run incident.
The suspect, Ezidinma, believed to be the General Overseer of a newly founded pentecostal church, at Opolo area of the state was said to be on the run for the past eight days.
The suspect was alleged to be driving a vehicle belonging to a man simply called “Honourable” when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to a source, the alleged killer Pastor wrongly overtook a Keke Napep in a very high speed and hit three unsuspecting pedestrians who died instantly.
The source lamented that, “the injuries sustained and leading to their deaths were unsuitable for the eyes. The man was reported to have continued recklessly and killed two other persons. So devastating”.
Among the dead were three young men, and another young man who was preparing to bury his mother.
It was learnt that the suspect fled the scene of the crime and went about his normal business as if nothing has happened until he was nabbed by security operatives on Wednesday.
In a video showing the moment he was nabbed and being was being driven to the Police Station, the young man can be heard saying “Honourable you are wicked, you knew that this thing was that serious you couldn’t even pick my call to tell me, let me report myself and face my wicked act.
“Mother lying in the mortuary, son lying in the mortuary. That woman that the son will bury, and now the same son that will bury her is lying beside her in the mortuary. God forbid”.
“No, no, no, it’s too painful. If they call me devil, I deserve it. If they call me the son of the devil I deserve it. If they call me a ritualist I deserve it. Let the whole channels in the world carry it, I am guilty, I am guilty. I am stupid, I’m foolish, I hate myself”, he cried.
In the video, the suspect admitted to the crime.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat in a telephone chat on Thursday confirmed that the suspect is in their custody with a view to full prosecution of the matter.
