The clergyman advised that a woman should never marry a man they don’t respect. He further explained that respect is one of the most important things in a marriage and why is because once a man knows you respect him he would naturally reciprocate it with love. However, if a woman doesn’t respect her husband she would speak out of turn and insult which in the long run will lead to a reaction from him that might come in domestic violence or in other forms.
Pastor Duncan-Williams said except if the man has an exceptional level of self-control and tolerance, will he avoid reacting to his wife’s lack of respect for him.
