“If You Give To A Pastor Who Does Not Pay Tithes, this is what happens” – Pastor David Ibiyeomie reveals

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the pastor of Salvation Ministries, has said that it is not every church, pastor or individual you should give to when you want to sow a seed.

He said this as he preached his sermon in the Master’s Place International Church in Warri, during their Financial Dominion Conference.

He said that for a seed to grow, it must be planted on a good soil. He said the quality of the soil and the quality of the seed will determine the quality of the harvest. And, according to him, a soil can be a church, pastor or an individual.

He then declared that you should never give to any pastor or individual that does not pay tithes, because it could lead to the closing of the heavens, thereby causing you not to receive the harvest you deserve. He said it would be better to give to an unbeliever with the hope of bringing him to the knowledge of the truth, than to give to a believer who does not pay his tithes.

He told a story of how a pastor came to him once with multiple financial problems, and how he had compassion on this pastor and gave him some money. Immediately he did that, his heavens closed and he was not getting blessed anymore. Then he asked God the reason for the closure, and God told him that the pastor he gave to does not pay his tithes. He had to pay tithes from his own money, for the money he gave the pastor, for the heavens to open for him again.

“When I give to Oyedepo, immediately the heavens open and I see returns. When I give to his wife, it’s the same thing. It is because they are givers. If you are a pastor and you are not paying tithes, you are on your own,” he said.

While I believe that paying tithes show your commitment and submission to God as your source, I find it hard to believe that God will not bless another individual just because he gave to a Christian who doesn’t pay tithes. Doesn’t everybody have to account for his own actions? Well, what do I know? These pastors are more spiritually mature than I am, and perhaps they have a deeper revelation than I do.
