The Founder and General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo gave members of his congregation guidelines on how to pray and fast effectively. According to the Cleric, the prayers of believers should focus on God and His Kingdom, and not on personal material needs.
The Cleric said this today during his sermon at the Living Faith Church’s Covenant Hour of Prayer held at the church’s headquarters at Ota, Ogun State. According to him from the video: “If your prayer and fasting focuses on God and His agenda, you have secured the future. If it focuses on you and your desires, the struggle continues”.
The Cleric referred to Psalms 34:10. This Bible verse says the young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. “Make this time count in your life and seek after God for your good. Instead of praying for your needs to be met, pray for the lost to be saved, pray for the saved to be established in the faith, and pray for the backsliders to be rescued. I have never prayed for any of my needs, yet, God supplies everything. Seek the kingdom of God first, and God will take care of your needs”, Bishop Oyedepo said.
