In 1997, This Was What I Did With Bishop David Oyedepo’s Book – Pastor David Ibiyeomie Reveals

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries spoke on “Faithfulness in Pastoral Ministry” at Church Growth Conference, Day 3. He revealed that to be faithful in ministry is to be fruitful in ministry. God will not entrust you with greatness without your faithfulness in view. According to him, you have to be faithful towards God and also towards assignments.

According to Church Gist, he revealed that most ministers don’t take time to prepare messages, many don’t invest in spiritual material, they think knowledge is expensive. “If you think knowledge is expensive, try ignorance,” he said. He said that What ignorance will cost you is more than cancer because with knowledge cancer won’t come. Knowledge is not a gift, there is a gift of the word of knowledge, there is no gift of knowledge. If you don’t know it, then you don’t know it. “Even if our Father lays hands on you, knowledge cannot be transferred,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that he will never forget when he just came to Winners Chapel newly in Iyana Ipaja, and Bishop Oyedepo said that he had never knocked on any man’s door to ask for a dime. He said nothing in this world can make him poor. “How can somebody say something like that? How then claimed that he knew there was something this man knew that he needed to know. “I was preaching tithing and prosperity and I was poor. That you preach it does not mean you know it,” he said.

He then revealed that in 1997, he locked himself for seven days with Bishop Oyedepo’s book ‘Breaking Financial Hardship’ and he was fasting not to break poverty but for light to come. “Many of you saw it, I didn’t see it. After his name, someone’s name was there and I was the third richest pastor,” he said. According to him, there is no way a lion will give birth to a goat. He said that when they told me, he laughed and said that “the key is in his hand in his generation and my hand in my generation.”
