Is it possible to have a secure future by being a good person?

Will Being a Good Person Guarantee a Secure Future

Many people have believed for millennia that living a decent, moral life is the key to securing one’s future. For instance, Confucius (551-479 BCE), a philosopher and teacher, was revered in the East for his proverb “What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.” *

Of course, many do.

Many continue to think that doing properly will lead to a bright future. They strive to be polite, practice excellent manners, understand their role in society, and keep a clean conscience. Linh, a lady from Vietnam, says, “I always felt that if I was honest and truthful, I would be blessed in return.”

Some people are inspired to undertake good deeds by their religious convictions. “I was taught that a person’s activities while he is living will determine whether he will experience unending happiness or endure pain after he dies,” says a guy called Hsu-Yun who resides in Taiwan.

HOW DID IT TURN OUT?

It is true that there are numerous advantages to helping others. But many people who genuinely want to be kind to other people discover that doing so often has different results from what they may anticipate. Shiu Ping, a resident of Hong Kong, says, “I discovered personally that people who do well are not always fortunate in return.” “I made an effort to look out for my family and do right. However, my marriage fell apart, and my husband deserted me and my children.

Devout people have experienced disappointment when their excellent actions went unrecognized. Van, a Vietnamese woman, felt like way. Every day, she claims, she would purchase food, flowers, and fruits to put on the altars of her deceased ancestors in the hopes that she would get blessings in the future. “Despite all the charitable actions and religious rites I had carried out for many years, my spouse was diagnosed with a life-altering illness. Then, my daughter passed away while she was just a little child when she was studying overseas.

WHY ACTING WISELY IS NOT ENOUGH

Being a decent person is crucial, but it won’t ensure a bright future. why not Think about what the holy writings say.

A GOOD DEED IS NOT CHOSEN BY EVERYONE

“One sinner may undo a lot of good,”

—ECCLESIASTUS 9:18

Your future may be at jeopardy despite your best efforts to live a decent life due to the selfish acts of others.
