Let somebody shout Hallelujah. I would leave the lecture to the lecturer so I will be as brief as possible. I am a very young man, I will only be 80 early next year. In this brief period of my life I have seen a lot of changes. There was a time when we were in primary school the questions our teachers asked us were “who is the Minister of Finance? Who is the Minister of Education? Who is the Minister of Agriculture?”. But today if you ask who is the Minister of something, the child will ask you “which year?” because we are now living in a time when things are changing so fast that you can’t really remember who is who. I want to submit to you that it doesn’t matter the age, it doesn’t matter the time, Nobody can forget Archbishop Benson Idahosa.

Therefore, you are welcome to history being made, the First Memorial Lecture of a man that cannot be forgotten. There will be many more of such lectures. My prayer is this, as we are remembering someone who left his own footprints on the sands of time, may you also grow up to become someone who can never be forgotten.
