“It is idolatry for any church to use the image of the dove as their logo to symbolize the Holy Spirit” – Pastor Abel Damina reveals why

Dr. Abel Damina is the General Overseer of Power City International. In his recent sermon, he said it is idolatry for any church to use the image of the dove as their logo to symbolize the Holy Spirit. He backed up his point by referring to Deuteronomy 4:12. This Bible verse says you only heard the voice of God, but you did not see any similitude of God.

The Cleric equally stated that trying to create a picture of God in your mind is also idolatry because nobody has an image of God. He referred to John 1:18, which says no one has ever seen God at any time, but His only son, who is God Himself. “You only heard God’s voice, you did not see His image, you did not see a dove. How then do you try to reduce God to a dove?

Speaking further the Cleric faulted the images people believe is Jesus which they religiously hang in their houses. “Some of those pictures caries inscription like ‘God is a guest in this house, a silent listener to every conversation. These are all idol worship which you should refrain yourself from. God did not allow you to see any image, lest you corrupt yourself by making for yourself an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman”, Dr. Damina said.
