It Is Wrong For Believers To Say That Jesus Took Away The Sins Of The World – Pastor Abel Damina Reveals why

Nigerian controversial gospel preacher, Dr. Abel Damina, founder and senior pastor of Power City International, has in a video uploaded to his verified Facebook account, a few minutes ago, clarified that it is wrong to think that Jesus takes away the sins of the world.

Pastor Damina first read John 1:14, where John the baptist saw Jesus and said, “Behold, the lamb of God that takes away the (sin) of the world.” He asked his congregation if John said (sin) or (sins). He told his congregation to be very careful to avoid assuming anything.

He clarified that what Jesus took away was sin (singular) and not sins (plural), Jesus did not take away wrong doings. He said that it is a noun not verb.

Pastor Damina reiterated that what Jesus took away is the sin of the world. He pointed out that it is very important because there will be no sins until there is sin and there will be no sin until the gospel is rejected.

Pastor Damina then said that what it means is that until the law came, sin was in the world (Romans 5:13) but man was not held accountable and that is why John said, “Behold the lamb that takes away the sin of the world.”
