“Kuhlman, a lady behind the curtain and not a lady on the stage” – Robert Liardon releases powerful testimony of Kathryn Kuhlman as he cautions Preachers and crusade organizers
Robert Liardon has been opening the eyes of Nigerians in what we can call a global awakening ever since his coming to Nigeria for the Dunamis Church conference.
He has once again given testimony on Kathryn Kuhlman’s life as he gives caution to pulpit preachers and crusade organizers.
As quoted by Church Gist, He said “YOU WILL NOT TAKE AFRICA JUST BY CRUSADES. YOU TAKE IT AND KEEP IT BY BUILDING STRONG LOCAL CHURCHES.
HAVING CRUSADES ONLY DOES NOT CHANGE A NATION. CHURCHES CHANGE NATIONS, CRUSADES GET PEOPLE SAVED.
IF YOU DON’T BUILD CHURCHES, YOU WILL LOSE THE HARVEST.
A CHURCH IS WHERE YOU LEARN HOW TO RECEIVE AND BUILD YOUR FAITH IN GOD; A CHURCH MOVES YOU FROM ALWAYS WANTING A BLESSING TO BECOMING A BLESSING.
The gift of people are supplement into your life of faith, not the main power of your life of faith. You learn how to live by faith in the Church not in crusades.
Having crusades only does not change a nation. Churches change nations, crusades get people saved. Your crusade mentality must give way to the power of the local church. You will not take Africa by crusades, you take Africa and keep it by building strong local churches. Now, I didn’t say that they should be stopped, I didn’t say the crusades should go away but they have to have the Church become equal because those who got saved must be discipled and you cannot disciple on crusade’s stage, you do that in the Church like this. I know this is a big one but it can happen also in a small one.
If you don’t build churches, you will lose the harvest. Pastors must learn how to pastor and not be a crusade preacher on the pulpit. A church is where you learn how to receive and build your faith in God; a church moves you from always wanting a blessing to becoming a blessing.
A local church teaches you how to survive alone by yourself when nobody else is there to help pray with you. A pastor teaches you that when you are alone in the darkness, in the struggle, in the pain, you got to know how to get your answers for yourself when there is no prophet to prohesy, there is no prayer partner to assist, how do you get victory in that time – That’s how to pastor.
I can’t run to a crusade but I can bow my knees and activate the law of faith and I have a better guarantee of my miracle than I do in any other way.
Miss Kuhlman was a very interesting lady. She was a top Evangelist in the 1700s, on national TV. She became a carrier of the glory 24/7. For example, when she go to the airport to get a plane to fly somewhere, she always had disturbances in the airport. There would be people laying down on the floor and the airport police could not figure out what was happening because twice a month, there seems to be some type of disturbances with people falling on the floor and they couldn’t figure out what was going on. So they put police everywhere for 30 days and when she walked through the airport, people hit the floor as she walked by and she would leave a lot of people falling down.
So the chief of police in the airport asked her to come to the office and said, Miss Kuhlman, you must stop this. You are disturbing the public peace and she said, “I can’t stop it because I didn’t do it”. They said we saw you. She said that’s what you think. “I can’t stop God. If God flows out of me and come into your airport, you go tell Him to stop and leave me alone” and the Chief of police and the airport authority came up with a plan and whenever she called the airport and say; “I’m on my way to the airport” and they brought in a secret pattern, took her secretly under the airport and walked round the plane and put her in her seat so as not to disturb the airport people.
At the end of her life, she flew privately. Now this is interesting. The only preacher I know this has happened to; all the businessmen that were very wealthy, with their private planes would fly their jets to pick her to her meetings and then back home.
In the last 67 years of her life, her impartations to the city began to change. Mayors of cities were begging her to come to their city, the Red-haired woman that believed in miracles to please come to their cities.
She took the invitation from the Mayor of Las Vegas. She never allowed cameras in her meetings, only audio recording. She had a staff begged her, you must film one service so that the future generations can see what God does through your ministry. So she picked the worst city in America, Las Vegas to be filmed. People were asking her, do you feel God is going to show up in Vegas because of all the sin that is there? She said l’m sure He will show up.
Prostitutes, sinners, scientists, hotel managers atheist, all sitting in the auditorium. She told the people, I’m not going to preach to you today. I’m going to have a heart-to-heart talk with you because “I’m the most ordinary person in the world. You came here today and you are seeing me in a white dress and you say, Kathryn touch me. But it’s not my touch that you need, it is His touch that you need”.
The same Jesus in the Bible heals today. He is looking for vessels that He can use, the ones He can trust with His mighty power. He is not looking for golden vessels, silver vessels, He is looking for yielding vessels.
She would say to the crowd, “I am the most ordinary person in the world”. How can you be ordinary when there are miracles everywhere. But she knew she had no power of herself. She would say, “I have no healing power. I am depending upon my friend, the Holy Spirit. If He doesn’t show up today, nothing will happen. So don’t grieve my friend and make Him leave” and about twelve thousand people all took a deep breath and said they don’t want to grieve her friend, the Ghost. She said if He doesn’t come, nothing is going to happen, that’s how they thought and she knew better than anybody else that many of the people coming to her services, it was their last hope. If they didn’t get hope, then they would die. So before this service, she would pace behind the curtain, it was a sacred moment in the Kuhlman service. They only saw the lady on the platform, not the lady behind the curtain.
This Kuhlman did not have a stage like yours, I like your stage, it’s pretty and nice. Kathryn had a plain platform, a music stand and a microphone and a piano on one side and that was it. She sang Gospel hymns because even the sinners knew some of them. She didn’t sing the latest contemporary songs of worship, not because she didn’t like them but because of the people coming to the service cannot sing them but they can sing ‘How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, He Touched Me’ – some of the great hymns of the Church.
She would sing those songs because the people knew them.
