LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF E. A ADEBOYE

It is on record that the number of branches of RCCG apart from the Headquaters parish was thirty-nine as at the time Pastor E. A Adeboye was assuming office as General Overseer in 1981

Adeboye said, the church was so obscured that when I attended a church’s program in early eighties and I was introducing myself as the General overseer of RCCG, the first question I was asked is “which church bears that name and where is it located, it took me a couple of minutes before I could convince the fellow asking the question that the church actually existed,The growth of the church now became a major concern to me.

In pursuance of Adeboye’s desire to increase the membership of the church, he attended several programmes in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, among which was Kenneth Hagin Camp in Tulsa and Pastor Paul Yungi Cho’s Church growth conference in Korea

He shared in one of those encounters how he saw the display of raw miracles and supernatural in Kenneth Hagin camp meeting,

He(Adeboye) made all effort to see Hagin after the program ,some ministers also join him, and appointment was given to all.

Meeting him(Hagin) some of the ministers told him that they want to be the distributor of his messages in Africa, another one said I want to be the distributor of your books and magazine in Africa

Adeboye said when it was my turn He ask me, what do you want, I said WHATEVER MAKE YOU YOU IS ALL I WANT, he ask the secretary to give books, messages and magazines to those who requested for it, he told the secretary to close the door, he layed his hand on me, all I remember was that I was on the floor, and that was it, it was an heavy impartation.

It was again time to visit Korea, Yoido Full Gospel church headed by Pastor Young cho, as at 1984, few years after Pastor Adeboye became General Overseer, the church had 400,000 registered members ,the church meet from Seven in the morning till nine at night,

The church made the Guinness Book of Records in 2005 as the largest church in the world, Pastor Cho will tell those who came to church this week not to come next week so as to allow others to come, that was the level of growth.

Adeboye believed God , kept pursuing his goals and was consistent in prayer, fasting and study of the word , in early 90s the church began to experience some level of increase, a major breakthrough then happen in 1998 that the city of Lagos stood still on a glorious night, people came by air, road and sea.
