Nigeria, been one of the most religious country in the world, hardly will go through any street in Nigeria without sight of different churches visiting your eyes, everyday, churches are springing up in different locations, souls have been won for Christ, some founded their churches because of the financial gains – some also set up churches to propagate the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Some school of thoughts have argued as to why churches have to be taxed because of the revenue they generate.Some also have advised the government to leave them alone as they are doing ‘God’s work’.But still,we still find churches growing up in many areas with large numbers of worshippers.
Now,let us look at the various Pentecostal churches in Nigeria, their founders and the year they are founded.
1. Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) :
With branches in all states in Nigeria and beyond the shores of Nigeria was founded by Reverend Josiah Akindayomi in the year 1952. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye Later took over the mantle of the church when the founder died.
2.Living Faith Church worldwide :
Also Known as Winners chapel,the church has its headquarter in Ota,Ogun state.If was founded by Bishop David Oyedepo in 1981.
3. Deeper Christian Life Ministry :
The church was founder by Pastor William Kumuyi in the year 1982 in Lagos state,South west,Nigeria.
4. Mountain Of Fire And Miracles Church :
The church was created by Pastor Dr. Daniel Olukoya when God directed him to start his own ministry in 1989.
5. Salvation Ministry :
The Pentecostal church was founded by Pastor David Ibiyeomie in 1997 in Porth Harcourt, Cross rivers state,Nigeria.
6.The Lord Chosen :
The church, known for their Apron used for evangelism was founded by Lazarus Muoka in 2002 in Mushin,Lagos state,Nigeria.
7.Word Of Life Bible Church :
The church was founded by the immediate past Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Pastor AYO Oritsejafor in 1987 in Warri,Delta state.
8.Omega Fire Ministry :
The church was founded by Apostle Johnson Suleiman in 2004 after working as assistant Pastor in the Armor of God church in Lagos.The headquarters of Omega fire ministry is located in Auchi,Edo state,South south,Nigeria.
9.The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) :
The church was founded by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.The Church started off in Ilorin,Kwara state in 1999.
10.Dunamis International Gospel Centre :
The Church was founded by Pastor Paul Eneche on the 10th of November, 1996.
