Meet The Man Who Removed 7 Books From The Bible

The Bible, which contains 66 ancient writings that have molded laws, influenced culture, and inspired billions to religion over three millennia, was written under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit by laymen and intellectuals, commoners, and aristocracy. Martin Luther, on the other hand, eliminated seven books from the Bible.

Many people believe that Catholics “added” books to the Bible whereas, Luther removed seven full books and parts of three others from it for no other reason than that they didn’t suit his understanding of “what God wanted.” Tobit, Judith, Additions to Esther, Maccabees, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, and Baruch / Letter of Jeremiah are among the books.

What was his motivation for removing the books from the Bible?

He attempted to remove a total of seven. He wants to change the Bible to fit his beliefs. He decided to eliminate Hebrews James and Jude from the New Testament, even if it meant eliminating books because they were incompatible with his doctrine that salvation is by faith alone.

Luther believed they were celebrating Judaism, and he expelled them to support his challenge to the Catholic Church’s authority.
