Meet the Six Redeemed Christian Church Pastors in President Buhari’s Government (PHOTOS)

Redeemed Christian Church of God is without doubt the biggest pentecostal ministry in Nigeria with an estimated membership of over 10 million members. Little wonder why successive presidential candidates visits the General Overseer of the Ministry for support. With the Church membership strength,it is not unusual that it has members who have risen to status they can be considered for political appointments.

In the first term of President Muhammadu Buhari, over 8 Redeemed Pastors were holding strategic positions in the government but with Okechukwu Enelamah, the former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment unable to secure a reappointment and Babtunde Fowler relieved of his position. There are presently six pastors of the ministry in the Present Administration.

Below are ordained pastors in RCCG who are in Buhari’s Government

1. Prof.Yemi Osibanjo

Yemi Osibajo GCON the current Vice President of Nigeria,has been in office since 29 May 2015. He is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Professor of Law . Vice President Yemi Osibanjo was the Pastor in-Charge of RCCG Lagos Province 48, a position he held for three years before his appointment.

2.Pastor Benjamin Akabueze

Akabueze was first appointed as a Special Adviser Planning to the President on Feb 15, 2016 and later re-deployed and appointed as Director-General of the Budget Office of the Federation, June 10, 2016, by Mr. President, to handle the nagging issues in the Budget office at that time.

He was the Pastor-in-charge of Lagos Province 39 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Pastor of the Kings Court Parish, Victoria Island, Lagos till his appointment with the Federal Government

3.General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin

He is the current Nigerian Chief of Defence Staff appointed to the position on July 13, 2015, by President Muhammadu Buhari. Prior to his appointment as Chief of Defence Staff, General Olonisakin was Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Nigerian Army and Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Signals. He is a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Olukayode Pitan is currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Bank of Industry. Prior to now, he was the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of First Interstate Bank Plc. He has also served as Executive Director of Unity Bank Plc in charge of Corporate Banking and Treasury Management.

Lekan Pitan is an ordained senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He was Pastor in charge of RCCG Olive Tree Parish in ikoyi for 15 years and later the Assistant Pastor in charge of Lagos Province 35 and Pastor in Charge of RCCG Tabernacle of David Parish, Ajah, Lagos. He was also the Chairman, Habitation of Hope- An NGO set up by Pastor(Mrs) Folu Adeboye to salvage, transform and empower the abandoned, hopeless and homeless street boys and girls in our society.

5. Pastor Laolu Akande

He is The Vice President Spoke person. He is regarded as the longest serving African correspondent at the United Nations, and the only Nigerian journalist so far to have interviewed a sitting American president in the White House when he interviewed former President George W. Bush.

He had earlier worked with leading American newspapers including the Philadelphia Inquirer, and New York Newsday. Also, at the United Nations, he worked briefly as a Press Officer. He is also an adjunct college professor and founder of Empowered Newswire

He became a pastor in 2007 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus Friends Assembly in Long Island, New York. Pastor Akande is Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans, CANANs Executive Director.

6.Pastor Alex Okoh

Alex Okoh, was a former Managing Director/CEO of NNB International Bank Plc and Managing Partner of Ashford & McGuire Consulting Ltd, a wholly indigenous consulting firm. He was appointed Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) by President Muhammadu Buhari. Before now,he was the Pastor-In-Charge of RCCG Olive Tree Parish.

Wow, WOW.. This is serious o🙄.. Redeemed is by far the most powerful church in Africa at Large.
