The Presiding Pastor of Power City International, Dr. Abel Damina said that many pastors’ teachings create wrong impressions of who God is to their church members, making them doubt the perfect personality of God. These wrong teachings create confusion in the minds of many believers, causing some of them to give up on God and Christianity.
The Cleric said these in response to a letter written to him by a man that picked offense in God based on what he read and heard about God. As a result, he abandoned Christianity but later retraced his steps after listening to the contrary teachings of Dr. Damina.
According to the Cleric, some pastors preach about God as one who does not forgive, who gives and takes away, who can keep alive and who can destroy, who can heal and who can inflict pains, one that is partial, one that is merciful to some and not to others.
“When you have a distorted knowledge of God’s character and his personality, your relationship with Him will be distorted and diseased, and that is very critical. God does not have a dual character, He does not kill and will never kill, He does not destroy and will never destroy, He is good, He is life and light, in Him there is no darkness, and there is no variableness”, Dr. Damina said.
