In a bid to clear up all the controversies surrounding her preaching and misconceptions arising from edited memes which contradict her doctrine, Evangelist Funmilayo Adebayo, popularly called ‘Mummy GO’ has granted an interview with BBC News Pidgin.
Mummy G.O reacted to the rife misconceptions and controversies about her doctrine on the internet in the recent interview. She disclosed that majority of the things people heard about her is false. She said she did not say many of the things making waves on the internet, most especially the meme of her face going viral with assorted captions.
She said all these fake propagandas are being pushed by the people who are against her. She said some people have been calling her to threaten her to stop saying ‘the truth’ because it affects them. “I have been receiving some strange calls: ‘Evangelist Funmi, you are affecting us. Many of our members hear your message, they pull out from our church. If you don’t stop we kill you’”
“I thought it was just a threat until we see some people bringing out gun through their own car, shooting at us; pursuing us; coming to the church compound with gun and things like that. At times, I will be in the bank, they will snap me, forward the picture to me and say see you are in the bank, if we want to kill you there we would have killed you. So, stop, if you don’t stop will disgrace you”
The Evangelist said these set of people are the ones trying to pitch people against her. She said they fabricate a lot of things just to rile people up against her. However, she said some of the things about her on social media like issue of make-up, issue of technology, issue of soccer amongst few others are true.
“Now, that you have spoken about things that could obstruct Christians from making heaven, what are the things to do in order to make heaven, according to you”- Interviewer asked Mummy GO
In response to this, Mummy GO said making heaven is the most difficult task on earth. She said the only way to make heaven is ‘to obey God’ which is the most difficult task on earth. She stated few instances to validate her point.
She said: “for example, there is a way you dress that you will look beautiful and exquisite but now imagine God telling you to stop dressing that way in order to make heaven. Is that not going to be extremely difficult to do?”
She gave another instance that a man who has a side chick outside his marriage who always makes him happy and consoles him when he is down will find it extremely tedious to leave that affair to make the kingdom of heaven.
With many other instances, she concluded that making heaven is the most difficult thing to do because to obey God requires us to abandon at least 80% of what we like.
