My Experience With Pastor Paul Enenche in Kogi State and how it changed me

Have you ever imagined going out one day, only to bump Into one of God’s servants on a day you weren’t even prepared for? What would you do, if the very person you’ve always watched and admired on TV, finally shows himself at your door step?

When we talk about servants of God in Nigeria, one won’t be able to mention names without mentioning the likes of pastor Chris oyakilome, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor E. A Adeboye amongst others. But I’d love to talk about my experience with one of them. It’s none other than God’s servant, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche.

I remember it was the year 2012, the month of August when the calebites world conference normally holds in Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State Nigeria. I remember the theme of that programme was mercy for manifestation. I remember, as a young man, I had tried my best to sit at the front row because one of my best preachers, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche, was going to be preaching that night.

Everything was set, and as the meeting commenced in the evening, we could feel the presence of God mightily in the tent of meeting. Soon, we saw convoys and the people leaped for joy because God’s servant, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche had just arrival and everyone was waiting in earnest to receive something from God.

But as he stepped into the auditorium, I noticed somethings about him that startled me to the bones. Normally, when men in his class go for meetings, they’ll have personal assistants running up and down everywhere, holding one or two things for him. But here was Dr Paul, coming out of the car, holding his bible and notepad. As he stepped into the hall, our eyes met and for the first time in my life I saw one of the most amazing smiles I would ever get to see on this planet. Immediately, I felt the love of God all around me. When it was time to preach, immediately he was introduced, he took his Bible and notes and made for the stage. I could see members of the protocol department trying to help him carry his Bible and notes but he refused. According to him “If you carry my bible, will you also carry my mouth”. According to him, all that wasn’t neccessary and important to him. God is the one to be seen not him.

His simplicity and humility brought me to a place of tears. With all the fame and name God had given to him, Dr Pastor Paul Enenche never took that to heart. I saw a man with a soft heart. I saw him cry out of joy when God healed people. I saw him danced like a child who has no shame because, he has the understanding that without God, he is nothing.

After preaching heavily and fiercely, he made his way out of the hall and as people trooped to greet him, I thought he was going to snub them and leave, but I saw him slow down, lifted up his hands and kept greeting and blessing the people on the walkway untill he got into his car.

No wonder, his ministry is experiencing a supernatural shift and that’s because he is a man broken by God and has come to a point where pride and arrogance cannot be found in him. From that moment, I told myself that, no matter how high and influencial God makes me tomorrow, I would never come to a point where I’ll become proud and arrogant.
