NEVER GET TIRED OF SAYING “NO” by Emmanuella Mike Bamiloye
The fact that someone is persistent in asking you for something eg a relationship you believe God is not involved in, sex before or outside marriage, to doctor figures at work etc does not mean you should give in to their pressure and persistence.
A perfect example of someone in a similar situation is Joseph. A well built, good looking, handsome, God fearing young man (Gen 39: 6b). His master’s wife kept pestering him to sleep with her but he refused because he feared God (vs 9b). He didn’t say “because she is persistent” or “I was tired to saying ‘no'” or “she was disturbing me too much so I gave in”. Instead he kept turning her down each time. Why? Because he couldn’t do it and sin against God. Even though it cost him his position in Potiphar’s house and landed him in prison, God later lifted him above Potiphar and his wife.
Don’t give excuse for that person placing you under undue ungodly pressure. Let your “no” stand the test of time and pressure. God will certainly reward your faithfulness and righteousness.
