Nigerian Big Church Founders Who Were Core Muslims

These men of God have come a long way from humble beginnings, impacting lives in the society with branches of their churches spread across the world. There are some of them who where not even born into a Christen  home and never had a Christan background, but now own big churches and are wining souls for Christ.

Lets take a look into the backgrounds of these great men ;

PASTOR TUNDE BAKARE (Founder of The LatterRain Assembly)
Pastor (Dr.) ‘Tunde Bakare was born to Muslim parents. He is the Founder of The LatterRain Assembly headquartered in Lagos.

He has appeared as a preacher on AIT television. The Nigerian presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, 31 January, announced Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos as his running mate for the 2011 Nigerian presidential election which he accepted.

CPC lost the presidential election to PDP, and Pastor Bakare remains a fierce critic of the Nigerian government and leadership. He was formerly a pastor at the Deeper Life Bible Church before he left to join the Redeemed Christian Church of God which he soon left to form his own.

BISHOP DAVID OYEDEPO (Founder of Living Faith Christian Church International(Winners’ Chapel)
The founder of winners chapel Bishop David Oyedepo was born to a Muslim father and Christian mother.

The Nigerian preacher, Christian author, businessman, architect and the founder and presiding Bishop of the megachurch Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, and Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners’ Chapel International.

The Winners’ Chapel International network of churches is located in over 300 cities, in all states of Nigeria, and in several cities in 45 African nations, Dubai, the United Kingdom and the United States. Oyedepo has been seen as one of the pioneers of the Christian charismatic movement in Africa and has been referred to as one of the most powerful preachers in the world.

REV. PAUL JINADU (founder of the New Covenant Church)
Born in Lagos, the founder of the New Covenant Church, Rev. Paul Jinadu was a devout Muslim from childhood.

PASTOR MATTHEW ASHIMOLOWO ( Founder/Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre(KICC)
He was born as Ahmed Ashimolowo in Kaduna to Muslim parents. He is the Founder/Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre(KICC).

Ashimolowo converted to Christianity from Islam at the age of 20 after the death of his father before enrolling with a Bible school.

REV. GEORGE ADEGBOYE (Founder of Rhema Chapel International Churches)
His father was a Muslim, who later became a Christian. Rev. George Adegboye is the Founder of Rhema Chapel International Churches.
