The Nigerian Televangelist and Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo made a shocking statement when he said, “Not all pastors are spiritual, so be careful who you listen to” during his sermon. The popular clergyman also revealed how to build spiritual capacity.
Here is what Bishop Oyedepo said in the video:
“We used to sing a song many years ago in vernacular, that Satan attempted to carry Jesus but He’s too heavy. So, it’s time to know that it takes quality spiritual feeding and quality spiritual exercise to build an appropriate spiritual weight against all satanic assaults.
My wife and I were traveling in New York at a time, we boarded a plane and then a man entered, he’s a wrestler with big muscles. He has spent time building his weight to give him a place in his career.
So, for you to have a place in destiny, your spiritual weight is a must. Spiritual weight calls for attention in weight building. Being an elder in Church is not equal to spiritual weight, they are two things. Those are two different things. Being in the Choir is not equal to spiritual weight. There are many Bishops, founders of ministries who lack spiritual weight.
The same way no one can eat on your behalf, no one can build your weight for you. There was an Evangelist who was preaching in a crusade, when an evil wind blew he stopped preaching and started eating the Bible. One angry witch perhaps just came around and blew air on him.
Not all pastors are spiritual, so be careful who you listen to. So wake up and come alive to spiritual things. If you will read the Bible when you feel like reading, you will never read. If you pray when you feel like praying, you will never pray. It is time to put up a spiritual plan to match the actualization of God’s agenda for your life. Invest in books, tapes and in spiritual materials that will help accelerate you.”
