OPINION: 3 Probably Reasons Why Nigerian Pastors Didn’t Attend T.B Joshua’s Funeral

Immediately the Senior Prophet of the Synagogue Of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun Joshua popularly known as T.B Joshua was laid to rest on Friday, 9th July 2021, tongues went on wagging about the conspicuous absence of top General Overseers at the funeral ceremony. Many have accused these senior men of God of not living up to the major biblical tenets of love and forgiveness which they do admonish their followers to practiced.

However, whatever might have caused the absence of these senior pastors at the Funeral of T.B Joshua, I think it is not because of the lack of love or forgiveness. It might be as a result of circumstances beyond their control.

1. May they were not invited to the burial ceremony.

Unless proven otherwise, I want to presume that these General Overseers were not given invitations to attend the funeral ceremony of T.B Joshua. It is always awkward to attend an event you were not invited to.

I guess these senior pastors don’t want to be embarrassed by attending a ceremony you were not given an invitation that was why they refused to attend.

2. Maybe they were very busy

We all are aware of how tight the daily schedule most of these General Overseers are because they are coordinating an organization whose branches stretched beyond the shores of Nigeria.

I guess these men of God might be too busy as at the time the funeral ceremony was going on.

3. There was no friendly bond between the late T.B Joshua and other senior men of God in Nigeria

One distinct characteristic about late T.B Joshua is that he is like a lone ranger while going about his ministry. He was never known to associate with other popular top pastors in the country.

This might be one of the major reasons why the top men of God shunned the burial ceremony of the late prophet because it doesn’t make sense to attend the burial of a person with whom you never had a good relationship while he was alive. It sounds hypocritical.

Be that as it may, these senior men of God might not be perfect humans, I think shunning T.B burial ceremony because of mundane issues will be tantamount to taking things to the extreme which I believe is a temptation they are spiritually matured not to fall into.
