Opinion: Two Major reasons Why Pastor W.F Kumuyi may not likely involve in CAMA Issue
For the past few days there have been reactions and counter-reactions from religious leaders and people in the country since the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye visited President Muhammed Buhari to discuss the enactment of the law on Companies and Allied Matter Act(CAMA) proposed by the Federal Government.
Since then, various religious leaders in the country Like CAN President Pastor Samson Ayokunle, The presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo has expressed their mind on the new proposed law.
Some reactions from these men of God is that a church is not a political gathering or organization that should operate under the Federal Government.
Some questions raised by people is that how can government sack the trustee of a church which it contributed no dime to establish? How can a secular and political minister be the final authority on the affairs and management of another institution which is not political?
With the above questions thrown, is not yet likely that the renowned man of God, Pastor Kumuyi will give his opinion or involve in CAMA issue based on these two reasons.
1.Pastor Adeboye’s visit to President Buhari
Pastor Adeboye’s visit has represented the interest of various religious leaders in the country by paying due visit to President Buhari on CAMA enactment. With this visitation,Pastor Kumuyi may not likely involve in the CAMA issue again knowing well that Pastor Adeboye’s visit will bring the desired result demanded by the people.
2.The Presence of Vice President Osinbajo at Aso Rock
The presence of Vice President Osinbajo who is also a Pastor at Redeemed Christian Church is enough to rely on, knowing full well that he will advise President Buhari to consider and make provision for CAMA amendment in any area the law might have affected churches all over the country.
The Good news is that President Buhari has however declared to Pastor Adeboye that the law can be reviewed at the Senate house if any part of it needs to be amended.
