Reactions have been coming in after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye paid a historic visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Comments flood the internet with many guessing the reasons why the elder statesman went to Abuja only two days ago. Leading the rumour is the issue of the new Companies and Allied Matters Act which will enable the federal government have some control over the financial wherewithals of the religion establishments and the non governmental organisations. It has been widely guessed that Pastor Adeboye went to the Presidential Villa to convince the president to drop the new laws.

Actually, the intrigues have continued to come in after the visit. And the RCCG General Overseer Adeboye should avoid after the meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

1. Pastor Adeboye should not talk about CAMA publicly

The revered pastor has done well by taking his complaint to President Muhammadu Buhari. He has done what is expected of a noble and humble religion leader and it will be in the records that Pastor Adeboye handled the matter affecting the church with high sense of maturity and humility.

The Christian Association of Nigeria has been consistent with its media condemnations of the controversial Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA). The CAN Chairman Pastor Samson Ayokunle yesterday once again called on the federal government to jettison the law.

Most probably, Pastor Adeboye was at the Villa because of the matter. But the general overseer should be quiet and avoid talking about the issue publicly.

Pastor Adeboye has done the best by talking directly to President Muhammadu Buhari. If the laws will be suspended at all, it won’t be because of the deafening noise being made in the media.

2. Pastor Adeboye should not disclose his mission to the Presidential Villa

Pastor Adeboye has been challenged to unveil the purpose of the visit to the presidential Villa. The pressure is too much and the popular pastor might be forced to disclose his mission.

When he left the villa after the meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the General Overseer snubbed the members of the press and he refused to take any question from them.

While the issue lasts, the pastor should not be moved to talk. He should aboid disclosing why he was at the Villa. This will make him discreet and Ena the president consider what Adeboye discussed with him two days ago.
