Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has received knocks on Instagram over her reaction to the death of colleague Osinachi Nwachukwu.
The 42-year-old ‘Ekwueme’ singer died on Friday from what multiple sources blame on domestic violence.
Reacting to the death in an Instagram post on Sunday, Mercy posted a picture of the deceased, writing “it is well.”
Some of those who reacted to her post, however, did not agree with her.

I agree that people sometimes do not use the word “it is well” properly.
Mercy should have just outrightly condemned it. Her reaction to some other comments shows she wasn’t in support but u didn’t capture that of course. People will get likes and make money from others mistakes and misfortune and that is part of problem. The stories we carry, how they are misconstrued, how some mock people who leave for safety and even mock their children. You finish doing these things and then pretend you are not part of the problem.
We have to condemn wat is bad outrightly and stop making money from people’s bad situation and misfortune…its just the same with blood money.
