Pastor Abel Damina Advises Fellow Pastors To Stop Preaching Against Sin, He Reveals Why

The General Overseer and Founder of Abel Damina Ministry, also known as Power City International, Pastor Abel Damina, has told his fellow preachers of the word of God to stop preaching against sin.

In his weekly bible teaching programme, the Akwa Ibom based preacher cum teacher of the Word admonished his colleagues in the ministry that there is no moral impact in focusing on preaching against sin.

He emphasized that sin is a nature that can only be dealt with by Christ. Therefore, instead of preaching sin to the believer, the pastor should put more effort in preaching and introducing Christ to the believer. According to him, when a man knows about Christ and receives Christ into his life, the Christ in him will dominate his sinful nature.

“Sin is a nature that can only be dealt with by Christ. Therefore, we don’t preach against sin but we preach Christ.”

The General Overseer further explained that preaching against sin is preaching Christ. Hence, when a man preaches Christ in his message, he is actually preaching against sin. He posits that no amount of threat created by enumerating the consequences of sin, can make people to stop sinning.

“Nobody ever stops sinning because you advised him to. Even with the threat of going to hell, people can’t stop sinning.”

Rather, the knowledge of Christ in the mind of the person will drive away the sinful nature or thought in the man. This, according to him, is because Christ was sent to destroy the works of the devil of which sin is the ultimate.
