According to Pastor Adeboye, there is only one thing that can make a man not respond to slaps, insults and persecution, the Bible asks us to turn the other cheek when someone slaps us but is it really easy?
Being a Christian means that you have to be Christlike, living the kind of life that Jesus Christ lived but not all Christians are doing that simply because one ingredient is missing in their character.
The fact that you are a Christian doesn’t mean life will just exclude you from hardship, in short, there will be persecution and people looking for your trouble.
When a person now begins to really be Christlike, it will be obvious and people will wonder. That is exactly what someone saw and pastor Adeboye talked about it in the open heaven devotional.
The person asked how he’s been able to live a life of faith consistently and the reply was that he simply has become ‘dead to flesh’.
He then said a man that is dead to the flesh is not affected by the changes around him. He is not affected by criticism.
If you slap a dead man, he would not react; insult him, he would not retaliate.
That is what is expected from a person dead to flesh.
