Since the fight against coronavirus began and the lockdown that followed, some men of God lent their voices to the decision of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government in the fight against the deadly virus.
While some men of God like Bishop David Oyedepo believed that the decision of the APC-led government to close churches needed a review, some of his colleagues on the pulpit either made their support knonw publicly or are indirectly praying for the government to end the deadly virus shortest possible means.
Below are the 10 Pastors, Bishops, Prophets and other men of of God who supported are trying their best to support the policy of the government to fight COVID-19.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye. Baba Adeboye as he’s fondly called by his admirers and followers, the general Overseer of the Redeemed Christain Church of God (RCCG) belives that for Nigeria to win the war against COVID-19, all hands must be on deck. And that men of God should obey the stipulated laws and order of the government of the country.
In one of his sermins, he qouted a section of the Holy Bible that says people must obey the constituted authority of a country.
Pastor Adeboye had severally made donations to the Lagos State government and the Federal Government.
Pastor Tunde Bakare. A friend once tagged the outspoken founder of the Citadel Global Community Church (formerly, The Latter Rain Assembly) is one of the critics of the Buhari-led government.
But that hasn’t stopped the former Presidential running mate to Buhari to support the APC-led government.
A few hours ago, Pastor Bakare donated two of his church buildings to the Lagos State Government for use as isolation centres.
Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze. He is the President of Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
Along with other Catholic Priests and Bishops across the country, Archbishop Augustine Obiora Akubeze is supporting the government’s decision to lockdown inorder to win the war against COVID-19
Recently, the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) offered all its 425 health facilities across the country as isolation centres forCOVID-19 patients.
Pastor Sam Adeyemi. He is one of the most lived men of God in Nigeria and he has further shown this to members of his church since the lockdown began.
One of the things he did was to credit account numbers of some of members of his church with credit alert. This he did to allevaite the effect of the lockdown and he had also made some highly celebra clarification about 5G and COVID-19 conspiracy.
He is the Senior Pastor of the Daystar Christian Centre and also a motivational speaker, and President of Success Power International.
Bishop Mike Bamidele. He is the founder of the Victory Life International headquartered in Ilesa, Osun State.
In his onw way he’s supporting the state government and the APC-led government to enforce the lockdown in his churches across Nigeria and supporting the government as well.
