Pastor David Ibiyeome Advises Believers On What To Avoid In This New Year

Every new year comes with its own blessings, challenges, and opportunities, and approaching it with the right mindset and character will not only help to maximize the resources it brings but also make one productive in whatever one does. To take advantage of the new, a believer must forget the old and everything that is associated with it in order to fully utilize the potential that could make one successful.

In addition to making the best out of this year, the founder and senior pastor of the Salvation Ministry, Port Harcourt, Pastor David Ibiyeome, has advised believers on what to avoid in this new year. In this article, I will be sharing them with you one after another.

1. Avoid giving up. Being hopeless is caused by an inability to secure help that could move one forward and make them a better person, and this condition of helplessness is enough to make one give up. A child of God who is a believer should never give up because Christ is the hope of their glory, and they should hold onto this by faith and trust God to intervene in their lives and make things beautiful for them.

2. Avoid being dismayed. When the rough becomes rough, and one is uncertain about the future due to challenges whose causes are unclear, confusion may set in and can make one dismayed. One important thing to keep in mind is that with God, all things are possible, and he is able to clear away every agent responsible for confusion in the lives of anyone that comes to him. No matter what goes on, stand firm and avoid being fearful, because fear is part of what makes one dismayed.

3. Avoid regretting over the mistakes of last year. It is normal to brood over past mistakes and become sorrowful because of the choices we make. However, regretting something that has passed will only impede one’s ability to move forward. While the past can’t be undone, the present can be maximized by learning from the mistakes of the past, avoiding a recurrence of them, and making the right choices to become productive in whatever one does this year.
