The Son of Bishop David Oyedepo in his message at Covenant Hour of Prayer revealed that Thanksgiving is the key to the prayer that must be answered. He said in his exhortation that the reason why believers pray is for God to answer our prayers. He said that the impact and results of our prayers are not evident in big grammar spoken but in the answers to prayers. From the book of Jeremiah and Matthew, he made it known that the effectiveness of our prayers is not based on our efforts or how high we raise our voices. For children of God to receive answers to prayers we must follow a pattern and observe the necessary steps for the result.
Pastor David Jr revealed in the book of Matthew chapter six, Jesus has instructions on how we should pray and communicate with God. Thanksgiving it is the envelope to our answers prayers. It is not by the hours spent fasting and praying but by the volume of Thanksgiving and appreciation, we render into God. Just the way we send text messages and it is received at the other end, it is also appleied to Thanksgiving, this is the key to answered prayers.
Pastor David Jr referred to how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, he appreciated his Father in Heaven first of all before telling Lazarus to come forth. Thanksgiving gave him access to his answered prayer for Lazarus and instantaneously the Miracle happened. In the case of Hezekiah after the prophecy of his death reached home, the word of God said he turned his face to the wall and cried out aloud. This is evident in the book of Isaiah; “when I saw that the Lord was ready to save me, I will sing my songs” (Isaiah 38:19-20).
As you offer appreciation and Thanksgiving to the Lord, every area of your life will experience a turnaround and your enemies will be Disappointed. Thanksgiving is the key to the God answering our prayers.
