The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye, has described how poor he was as a lecturer at the University of Lagos before he gave his life to Jesus.

The RCCG leader said that he was very poor as a lecturer in the university because he had so many problems eating up his salary. He revealed that he was so poor that by the middle of the month he would borrow money from the salary he paid his driver to buy fuel for his car.

According to Adeboye, all of this changed after he gave his life to Jesus. He added that before he gave his life to Jesus he used to get sick every week and got well, again and again until he surrendered his life to Jesus. Pastor Adeboye revealed further that Jesus has so much anointed him that he can pray for the dead to rise back to life.

Pastor Adeboye disclosed this when he was preaching during the Festival of Life programme of RCCG in London.

“When I gave my life to Jesus Christ, everything changed, my health changed, I used to be sick every two weeks of malaria fever because I was a sportsman, I get well and get back into it again. When I gave my life to Jesus, things changed. I was so poor even though I was a lecturer in the University, I had so many problems eating up my resources that by the middle of the month I will be borrowing money from my driver, the salary I gave him I will be borrowing out of it to buy fuel for my car. I gave my life to Jesus and everything changed. I gave my life to Jesus Christ and what do you see? A mathematician now by the grace of God being used even to raise the dead, the same can happen to you.” Adeboye said.

He therefore urged those who are yet to give their lives to Jesus to do so in order for Jesus to change their lives like he has done to his life.
