Pastor E.A Adeboye reveals what clapping and dancing to God mean

Despite all the things we enjoy from God every day, the only thing that we are expected to give in return is worship. We are admonished to worship God in spirit and in truth and this is far above money or any material benefits. You should be able to sing, clap and even dance to the Lord for everything he has done for you. There are many biblical examples of people who got their victory from worshipping God. One example is Paul and Silas who were rescued from the prison because they prayed, sang, and praised God.

However, Pastor E.A. Adeboye reveals what clapping and dancing mean to God at RCCG Annual Holy Ghost Congress. According to him, your legs were made to dance. In Psalms 150:4, the Bible says “Let us praise him in the dance”. God made your legs to dance. What does dancing symbolize? To dance is to say to God I acknowledge you as my owner. So when you dance to God, it means that you see God as your owner.

He also revealed that God made your hands to clap, in Psalm 47:1, it says clap your hands all ye people. Clapping is a signal to the Almighty God that I will cooperate with you. When you want to make an alliance with someone, it is often done by the hands. The hand must be heavily involved. So you need to learn how to clap your hands when worshiping God so that He will be ready to cooperate with you. As long as you’re ready to cooperate with God, then He will be ready to cooperate with you.

Finally, you should make it a habit of worshipping God at all times. When you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep at night, you should try to continually worship God. Just as David danced to the Lord, you should worship God by dancing so that God will know that you acknowledge Him as your owner. You should also clap to the Lord so that He can cooperate with you.
