Wikipedia, age, net worth, and ministry of pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye
Enoch Adejare Adeboye, Pastor and General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Nigeria, was born on March 2, 1942.
In 1956, Enoch Adejare Adeboye started attending Ilesha Grammar School in Ilesha, Osun State.
The Nigerian Civil War prevented Enoch Adejare Adeboye from finishing his first degree at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), but he later transferred to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) in Nsukka and earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics there in 1967.
In the same year, he married Foluke Adenike.
Adeolu Adeboye, Bolu Adubi (née Adeboye), Dare Adeboye, and Leke Adeboye are their four total children.
In 1981, he was appointed the church’s general overseer.
He served in the job at Unilorin for three years on a part-time basis before leaving his academic position to become a full-time preacher.
As of March 2017, the church, which had few members before Adeboye was named general overseer, had branches in over 198 countries, with more than 14,000,000 Nigerians attending services. According to Adeboye, he wants a church to be five minutes away by foot in emerging areas and five minutes away by car in developed cities.
Adeboye does not dispute the notion that he preaches the prosperity gospel, claiming that “Pentecostals talk about the now and not only the future, which is why they have such an impact.” There are some things God could do for us right now, even though we have to worry about heaven.
Pastor Adeboye left his position as general overseer in 2017 due to new regulations that limited non-profit leadership to those with 20 years of experience and younger than 70 years of age.
In honor of his 80th birthday in 2022, Adeboye’s organization gave eight dialysis units, a reverse osmosis medical water purification system, and an electricity generator to Wuse District Hospital.
