Everybody hates proud people. Even the proud person hates his fellow proud person. They just carry this kind of aura that would make everyone despise them. If humans can dislike people who showcase unnecessary pride, then how much more God.
Faith Oyedepo said the proud will always miss out on the grace of God. She said that if there is any form of pride in an individual’s life, that individual will miss out on the grace of God. There is so much truth in the words she has said. Let me explain.
One thing I have noticed about proud people is that they cannot admit that they have made a mistake. They will rather continue in their errors, thereby heading deeper into their destruction, than stop, admit that they were wrong or ignorant, and take the necessary corrections. How will God help such a person? If God gives that person an instruction, wouldn’t that person ignore it because he believes his ways are the right ways?
Proud people will not even accept God’s free gift of salvation. You see, for you to be saved, you have to admit first that you are a sinner and that you need help. Then you accept the help God will give to you, (which is Jesus Christ), so you can be saved.
Do you see why the scriptures say that God will resist the proud, but give more grace to the humble? The grace that God will give is unmerited favour, which means that the humble will get to receive things that they don’t deserve.
If you have any form of pride in your life, please abandon it. Tell the Lord to help you get rid of it, and put on the garment of humility, so you can qualify to receive more of the Lord’s grace. Be blessed.
