The word of God is contained in the Bible, and Hebrews 4:12 says that it is quick and powerful. It is the primary means chosen by God to guide us to know, understand and follow Him. That is why 2Timothy 3:16-17 says that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Pastor Faith Oyedepo said that taking in the word of God on a daily and continuous bases will enable spiritual growth.
When you study and meditate on God’s word, it shapes and transforms your life spiritually, and lead you into greater holiness and spiritual vibrancy. This is because the Bible redirects our minds from sins to holiness, it empowers our minds to think God’s way, it reveals to us the very nature and character of God. From the pages of the scripture, we see God as the perfect creator and ruler of all things (Genesis 1:1), Compassionate and gracious (Exodus 34:6), all-power, all-knowing and everywhere present (Psalms 62:11).
The word of God also reveals God’s great plan of salvation through His son, Jesus Christ, who came and save us from eternal condemnation through His death and resurrection. As we daily and continuously look at who Christ is through the pages of scriptures, we get transformed into His likeness day by day ( 2Corinthiams 3:18)
