Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo the Founder and Senior Pastor of Agape Christian Ministries Inc spoke to the men in his church about the need to be industrious and also why they should add value.
He told the young men that providing is part of the responsibilities they have. You must take care of your home and it doesn’t mean women don’t work. He said that as a man you have to be doing something because this life is hard on men. According to him, a beautiful woman can survive without work. “This world is fard on men, you can’t be lazy and make it here,” he said.
He said that some of his staff were coming to his house one day (two guys and one lady) and their car broke down on Lekki road. The men then stood outside stopping cars to help them but unfortunately, no one stopped. People could have thought they are armed robbers. They then changed their mind and went inside the car, asking the lady to do the same. Funny enough, three cars stopped on seeing the lady. That is the reality of life.
Finally, he said that you must be industrious as a man. If they don’t give you a job, find work, find where you can add value. That was what King David did, Nobody gave him a job but he looked for where he can add value. “Everybody needs value, find where you can add value,” he said.
