When a man or woman is not in a committed relationship like long-term dating, engagement, or marriage, such a person is said to be single. The years of being single are very important and also bring many opportunities and experiences that not only encourage growth but also set those who maximize and take advantage of the lessons and chances offered to them to get set for marriage.
Addressing believers at the church headquarters, the founder of David Christian Centre, Lagos, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, reveals what the years of being single represent in the life of a believer. According to him, for most people, it is either a period of waiting to be married or a curse that they do everything they can to avoid.However, it is a gift from God and should be embraced because it is precious.
Further, Pastor Okonkwo enlightened us that the years of being single are periods to be used to prepare for life. He added that how one’s life will end largely depends on how the single life is spent. This is true because the foundation of success enjoyed by kingdom or world shakers who are productive in life was laid during the years they were single. Any believer who can maximize his or her years of singleness will not only end up happily married but will also live a fulfilled life.
Rather than seeing singleness as something to avoid or run away from, a believer should know the purpose, opportunities, and other things it presents, and take good advantage of it to become productive, mature, and fit for marriage.
