Pastor Kumuyi Clearly Explains The Difference Between Salvation And Sanctification
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, shared a live video on his Facebook page and explained the meaning of sanctification. He said, “Ecclesia, the people called out of sin, society, and the world. They are the Church because they responded to the call, and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He quotes Ephesians 5:26, “that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” Now Christ gave himself for the church, that he might sanctify and cleanse it.
Some people have little understanding of the word “sanctify.” To sanctify is not only to be set apart. When you believe in the Lord Jesus, you are part of the church. The sanctification that Christ prayed for the disciples after they had been saved is the inward cleansing of the heart, mind, spirit, and thoughts. We are now cleansed and sanctified, not having spots or wrinkles. We should be holy and without blemishes; that’s what sanctification does.
Salvation is abstaining from all appearances of evil; there is no more attraction to sin, and there is no magnetic field between you and evil anymore. The God of peace, who gave you peace at salvation, now wholly sanctifies you. Jesus saves and sanctifies with the same blood. We have to get to him by faith to be sanctified.
