Pastor W.F Kumuyi, the Deeper Life Bible Church’s General Superintendent, led a recent revival session titled “The Power of Faith and Perseverance in Prayer.” He spoke on the mighty prayer of his appointed servants, and read from the book of James 5:16, which says:
“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
Using the book of James, the man of God demonstrated the value of prayer. As he described in his book, James was particularly concerned with effective prayers since they are extremely vital. Effective prayer is one that has a significant impact. Prayer, according to the man of God, is required to keep evil from reaching you.
Throughout the discourse, the man of God issued prophetic proclamations to his congregation. He was pointing to the outside of the church while explaining that God will terminate ills emanating from the enemies. To avoid his congregation thinking he was referring to them, he explained why he enjoys moving his hand when preaching.
He admitted that when he is preaching, he enjoys moving his hand. “It will be difficult to communicate if I keep my hand and arm still while preaching,” he explained. He went on to say that when he prays against the enemy’s misdeeds and points to them (enemies), they (members) should not believe he is pointing to them because they are not the source of anyone’s problem.
Finally, he prayed for them and pleaded with God to stop the enemy’s schemes. The opponent will not be able to defeat them if they believe. They must not misunderstand the significance of his hand movement. It’s quite significant.
