Controversy and criticism
Lazarus Muoka’s miracles have drawn criticism for being “stage-managed” and “false,” according to their detractors. After forming an unwritten deal with Lazarus to invest in the church, a former member of his church claimed that Lazarus shortchanged him of 317million. Additionally, a woman made a number of accusations against him, which she then recorded and sold in prominent marketplaces in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria on CD formats. The church’s leadership referred to these accusations as “baseless” and “untrue,” respectively.
