King Saul’s son was named Jonathan. Jonathan offered David his garments and other gifts after he slew Goliath. David was also shielded by him when Saul, David’s father, attempted to murder him. When David experienced discouragement, he was urged to maintain his strength. They also made a pledge to one another. Jonathan helped David fulfill his destiny as the next king of Israel since he was aware of it.
