Rev Sicebi Msweli (44) was reportedly shot dead by Mr Nceba Zulu (22), and the incident shocked members of the congregation.

Mandisa Msweli, Mfu Msweli’s wife, who was also present at the scene, told LANGA: “As we watched, we were startled by a gunshot, which they fired several times at my husband and another member of the congregation next to him, reading the Bible. He finished shooting and fired without taking anything.

“I do not want to lie and say that we are suspicious, my husband had no enemies and we are a small church, he was in charge. I know of no dispute in the church or at work. He was a manager at his job, but I did not know that everything was going well, ”said Ms Msweli. She told the SUN that the manner in which it took place, shows that the killers already understood her husband.

The Sun has learned that Rev Msweli was rushed to a nearby clinic, the Sipho Zungu Clinic, where he was pronounced dead. Church members spoke to the newspaper but requested anonymity because of the seriousness of the situation, describing Rev. Msweli as a good man who cared about the church.

They asserted that his execution had nothing to do with the church, possibly his external enemies or the workman because in his church he was the one in charge and no one was arguing with him.
