Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church spoke to his members about “The Interpreter Of Divine Revelation” at a recent worship service. In one of his sub-topics, he spoke about the Fearless Interpretation Of God’s Recompense and read the book of Genesis 40:16-22.
He said that Joseph did not need to ask for time to go and fast and pray to get the interpretations of the dreams in the prison. He lived in close intimacy and relationship with God, hence, He had His presence with him at all times.
Right there on the spot, he gave correct interpretations of all the dreams. He did not modify or adjust the interpretations, there was no pity party, and he was not looking for the praise of man.
According to him, this is how a man and woman filled with the Holy Ghost ought to live. Therefore, when a problem comes up, we don’t need to go and fast and pray, but instantaneously, the solution will be given to us.
Joseph told the chief baker that his head will be hung, and he will be dead. He didn’t fear him or modified it, he was only responsible to God. Why did he do that? Because he wanted the baker to know that the end was near and therefore prepare for eternity.
He then sends an important message to Christians Doctors as he said, “Christian doctors don’t tell their patients the truth about their health status even though they know that except a miracle happened, the patient would die.
They would say God is in control, but their unbelieving counterparts are truthful in this regard. It is better to tell the patients the truth so that they will prepare themselves for eternity.
Joseph told the baker the truth. Preachers must tell sinners the truth so that they can be prepared. Don’t tell them they will not die. If members have dreams about dying, don’t tell them not to worry but rather, to go and put their houses and lives in order.”
Finally, he asked, “Why should a preacher be a deceiver? Why should a believer with the knowledge and understanding of the word of God be a deceiver?” and advised them to tell the truth and let them prepare before it is too late.
