Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of Trinity House Church and husband of Late Ibidunni Ighodalo was a keynote speaker. He was invited alongside top personalities like Toke Makinwa and others.

PASTOR ITUAH LIFE AS A YOUNG MAN

As a young man, Ituah recollects how he was the life of the party in his youth days. He knew all the crooks and corners of Lagos and was the reigning guy. He said that he was surrounded by social places such as Yaba Tech, University of Lagos and different clubs and bars. Therefore, he enjoyed his days to full. He also had different girlfriends.

Before having many different girlfriends, he had been in a particular relationship and really trusted the lady he was dating. However, she broke his trust when she cheated on him. Ever since, he started living the Playboy life. Whenever he had a girlfriend, he would quickly cheat on her before she even thinks of cheating on him. It was all fun for him, even though he got broke many times.

GETTING MARRIED FINALLY

Pastor Ituah reiterated that he wasn’t so moved to get married. He was enjoying his Playboy life in Lagos. However, he soon gave his life to Christ and became an assistant pastor in RCCG. As an assistant Pastor, it was required for him to be married to avoid temptations that would come.

So, he decided to get married at the age of 35. He said he made sure he went very very far away to get his first wife because he didn’t want her to know his true story of how he was all over Lagos and had lived a reckless life. She was introduced to him by his friend who was also present at the SWORTE event.

MARRIAGE STRUGGLES AND DIVORCE

On getting married, he’d thought it would be a bed of roses. To him, he paid the bills as at when due and did everything possible to be the best husband to his ex-wife, Summer Ann. However, she was never satisfied. He remembered her coming to him tearfully and telling him that he never loved her.

He wondered what could make her say so as he’d tried his possible best to be a great husband. It wasn’t until years later that he realised that he’d been stereotyped as a man to never tell a woman “I Love You” as it made a man feel weak. When he realised his faults, coupled with her own issues, the marriage had already broken, just 4, 5 years after the marriage.

GETTING MARRIED AGAIN

Pastor Ituah spoke about his getting married again, 10 years after his first marriage broke up. This time, he’d learnt his lessons and was ready to truly love a woman as was expected. He met a young girl – Ibidunni Ajayi, who was just in her 20s while he was in his late 40s. He said that when they met, people discouraged her from getting married to him because he was a pastor.

Ibidunni at the time, had dreams of becoming an event planner which she would later call – Elizabeth R Events. But people told her that Pastor Ituah, being a pastor, won’t let her follow her dreams of being an events planned. He however revealed that what people do not know is that he was the one who singlehandedly financed her events business, registered it and set it on its feet.

He supported her business greatly and the events which he helped her start which is called Elizabeth R has grown into a multi-billion business. Before her death, the federal government had paid her billions of naira to build isolation centres around the country. This was all possible thanks to her husband because she utilised his connections very well.

MESSAGE TO THE MARRIED AND SINGLES

Pastor Ituah ended his speech by dropping three very significant points on marriage. He said that if you’ll be getting married, you must

1. Learn to love your spouse truly.

2. Learn to be their support system.

3. Learn to always commit everything into God’s hand.
