Pope Francis Reacts To The Assassination Of Father Isaac Achi, Urges Christians To Join Him To Pray
On January 15, suspected terrorists set Rev. Father Isaac Achi, a priest at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kafin-koro, Paikoro Local Government Area, Niger State, on fire and killed him. At about 3 a.m., Achi was slain at his home.
Pope Francis, who is also the Roman bishop and ruler of the Vatican City State, responded to the event through a message on his official Twitter page. “I beg that you all join me in prayer for Father Isaac Achi, of the Diocese of Minna in northern Nigeria, who was slain last Sunday in an assault on his rectory,” you added. Christians continue to be the target of violence in such large numbers. Together, let’s pray for them.
Although this is terribly terrible news, all we can do is pray. I hope you don’t become weary of praying since Christian persecution is getting worse every day. May God’s will be carried out. Amen
